Terms and Conditions
Big Little Things sells unique handmade and handpicked personalised gifts, home decoration, decorative gifts and décor for weddings, parties and special occasions. As a Big Little Thing customer, your privacy, security and satisfaction with our website and our service is of great importance to us. Our terms and conditions and associated policies aim to make our website a safe and easy place to shop with confidence.
By using this website, registering your details or placing an order on this website you are confirming that you have read, understood and accept the terms and conditions in their entirety. This website, found under the www.biglittlethings.co.uk URL, is operated by Big Little Things. References to Big Little Things and ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ shall be deemed to be references to Big Little Things and the associated website. References to ‘you’, and ‘your’ shall be deemed to be references to persons placing an order via the www.biglittlethings.co.uk website, and/or telephone enquiries. These terms & conditions also cover our emails and any other associated promotional activity.
When you place an order with us it will be deemed that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. If you are unhappy with any part of these terms and conditions, you should contact us before placing an order either by phone or by emailing email@example.com or by post to our Head Office address.
By placing an order through our website you are making an offer to Big Little Things to purchase the goods outlined in your order.
When you place an order, we will receive the payment via PayPal. You will enter your shipment or delivery details at the point of check out. This information includes name and address. Please ensure these details are correct. This information is required in order to process your request or inform you of acceptance of the order. A contact phone number is needed so that we can get in touch if there is a problem with your order; please reference this in additional information. It is your responsibility to ensure that we have your email, telephone and address as we cannot be held responsible for purchases being delivered to incorrect addresses or for being unable to contact you should we need to.
After placing an order online, we will provide you with confirmation that your order has been received but this is not confirmation that your offer to buy the items has been accepted. Our contract for the sale of our products will only exist once an order has been accepted, processed and despatched to you.
Please note that the following circumstance may result in us being unable to fulfil and process your order:
If the product you ordered is out of stock
We are unable to authorise your payment
If it is identified that there is a product description or pricing error
If customers do not reach any order criteria outlined in the Terms & Conditions
If our delivery companies are temporarily unable to deliver due to exceptional conditions that are beyond our control including hazardous weather and accidents.
Should there be an issue with your order, we will contact you either by phone or email. Please ensure that you check all items on receipt, as faulty or damaged items must be reported within seven working days of receiving the parcel. You must phone us to report your findings in the first instance, and then you must confirm this in writing via letter or email. Keep your proof of posting your letter. We will reimburse you as soon as possible, within a 30 day period from receipt of your written confirmation. Please refer to our returns procedure for further information regarding return of goods.
Big Little Things reserve the right to reject any offer of purchase by you at any point. Please note that whilst we will make every effort and reasonable care to keep your order details and payment secure, we cannot be responsible for any loss you may suffer if a third party procures unauthorised access to any information that you supply when accessing or ordering from the Big Little Things website.
Due to the nature of our bespoke service, perishable items will be prepared after the time of order and as the product is deemed. As edible items, such as sugar cubes and chocolate spoons are made to order, we state that the turnaround time for these products will be between 7-14 days.
We advise a shelf life of no more than 12 weeks for all of our edible products. We recommend that they are consumed at your earliest convenience to ensure they are enjoyed in their optimum condition.
We are unable to accept returns on personalised products due to the made-to-order and individual nature of the items. This is with the exception of a manufacturing fault to the item.
When placing an order you will be added to our mailing and email list. However, should you wish to not receive mailings, please unsubscribe by informing us and we will remove you from our list. You can remove yourself from the email list by amending your email preferences via the link at the bottom of each email/newsletter.
Website Product Pricing & Descriptions
Every product bought is sold subject to its product description which outlines any further specific conditions that relate to that product including, without restriction, terms and conditions, delivery dates/times, warranties, after-sales support and guarantees.
We undertake all reasonable care to ensure that all the details, prices, measurements and descriptions of products on our website are accurate at the time when they are entered onto our system. Whilst we endeavour to keep the website as up-to-date and accurate as possible, there may be rare occasions when the information on the website (including product descriptions) at a certain time may not reflect the position exactly at the point an order is placed. We do not give any warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of the information and cannot be responsible for any errors or omissions or for the results arising from the use of such information. Please note that we are unable to confirm the price of a product until your order is accepted in line with our order acceptance conditions. We take every care to ensure that the description and specification of our products are correct. However, specifications and descriptions of products on this website are solely to provide an approximate idea of the goods they describe and do not form part of the contract between you and us and are not intended to be binding. Furthermore, while the colour reproduction of the products is a close representation, we cannot accept any responsibility for any variation in colour caused by the browser software or computer system used to view the products.
Goods are faulty if they are received damaged or where a manufacturing fault occurs within six months of purchase; however this does not include the results of usage including wear and tear. Big Little Things are not liable for damages caused by a third party carrier.
This applies to all of our products except for earrings and personalised or commissioned items. Please note that, in compliance with the UK’s Health & Hygiene regulations, we cannot accept the return of earrings unless they were originally faulty. Otherwise, we can accept returns of a complete product, which are unused, untainted by hairspray or perfume and in an “as new” condition. Please note that we reserve the right to refuse a claim for a return if we believe that a customer is taking advantage of this returns policy.
When returning jewellery please ensure that you include the original gift packaging and packing slip, that the items are suitably protected against damage in transit and that you use a suitable recorded delivery service. Please note, until we receive delivery of the item, you are not entitled to a refund or exchange and you are deemed as still being in receipt of the goods. Items must be received by us within seven working days after the day of the date that the item was delivered to you. Please refer to our returns procedure for further information regarding return of goods.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
With the exception of faulty items or goods damaged in transit, please note that we are not responsible for return postage. Once you have contacted us, please ensure that you include a copy of your delivery note, as well as obtain a Proof Posting. We cannot be responsible for parcels that fail to reach us.
If you are not happy with products you have chosen and received, you are entitled to cancel this contract if you so wish under the Distance Selling Regulations, provided you exercise your right no longer than seven working days after the day on which you receive the products (excluding made to order/personalised items).
Should you wish to cancel your order prior to dispatch, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that there may be occasions when a cancellation request is received after an order has been processed and dispatched. If your order has already been dispatched we will be more than happy to offer you an exchange or, if you wish, a refund provided that the products are returned complete and in their original condition. Where possible we would ask that you return the items with the original packaging. Please note that, with the exception of faulty items or goods damaged in transit, we are not responsible for return postage. Where goods are delivered to a third party you will need to be able to return the goods you ordered to us to be able to exercise this right.
Returns Policy & Making Returns
In the unlikely event that a parcel arrives damaged or faulty please contact us via telephone and then confirm by email at email@example.com so we can arrange a replacement, exchange, or refund for you.
If you wish to return an item, with the exception of personalised products, we need to receive it back into our warehouse within twenty one days of receipt for a refund or exchange. We ask that you please return the items where possible with their original packaging. This does not affect your statutory rights. As the goods are your responsibility until they reach our warehouse please ensure you package your return to prevent any damage to the items or boxes.
With the exception of faulty and damaged goods we are not responsible for the return postage and do advise that you obtain a proof of postage in case the parcel fails to reach us.
If you wish to cancel your order and return it to us, under the Distance Selling Regulations, you must let us know within seven working days of receiving your parcel. This can be done by contact us via telephone and then by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will then need to return the order to us, at your own expense if you have already received it. Once we receive the order back we will issue a refund for the unwanted items. Please note this does not apply to the personalised items which cannot be returned unless faulty or damaged.
Please refer to our Returns Policy for a full outline of our returns procedure. Please note we do not except returns on Personalised or edible products. With the exception of faulty items or goods damaged in transit, please note that we are not responsible for return postage.
Please return with the original or a copy of your packing slip to:

We recommend that you obtain a Proof of Posting in case for whatever reason your parcel(s) fails to reach us.
Promotions and Discounts
Discounts or special offers may be available to all on the website. Some special offers and discounts will be emailed and therefore available only to those customers who have requested future correspondence from us. Please ensure you enter the relevant promotional code when prompted during the check-out process as we cannot refund the discount amount once payment has been processed. Discounts or special offers may not be used in conjunction with each other. Please note that only one promotional offer can be used at any one time and any Promotion Codes are not valid in Sale periods or on Clearance items that have already been discounted.
