This romantic real wedding takes us to the unspoilt setting of The Citadel in Weston-under-Redcastle (near Shrewbury) – a romantic county house venue. Catriona and Robert’s elegant wedding day was so beautiful and inspiring we just had to share it! Enjoy.
The elegance and style of this wedding really complemented the spectacular gardens and rare Grade 1 listed natural landscape.
Catriona and Robert had a clear shared vision of how they wanted their wedding day to be; crisp whites and soft tones mixing classical influences with a romantic feel. Catriona’s love for Hydrangeas was not only prevalent in her wedding flower selection but was echoed in the sugar icing detail of her cake, through to the embellishment on her wedding gown.
The Bride’s gorgeous white Hydrangea bouquet was a real showstopper! The Bridesmaids, who were dressed in soda tone dresses, carried a posy of a green and white Hydrangea mix. Matching white satin ribbons trailed each bouquet handle to complete the wistful look.
Other wedding flower choices included white Eustoma (or Lisianthus as it is otherwise known) and white Delphiniums which are both seasonal to mid-September. The bridal party buttonholes featured Eustoma layered with a mix of foliage and male pheasant feathers.
Although the delightful details didn’t end there! Catriona and Robert’s shared vision was brought to life with Polaroid snaps as place settings, the most beautiful foliage hoops which adorned the marquee, the centre pieces, the bouquets, the buffet of sweets, the trailer loaded with Hydrangeas and rustic milk churns filled with white Delphiniums, Hydrangeas and foliage to create a floral statement at the entrance of the marquee.
A huge thank you to Catriona and Robert for allowing us to help create their stunning day
