See Alex and Alistair’s relaxed wedding at The Lion & Pheasant, Shrewsbury in Shropshire…
Alex is the kind of person who, thirty seconds after meeting, you just want to be friends with. She’s the loveliest person and it was easy to see why Alistair wanted to marry her!
We met when she came in to our shop to tell us about her up coming nuptials; a relaxed, informal affair involving close family and friends…the overriding theme of this wedding was happiness. The whole wedding sounded unique; her 9 year old daughter would be rocking a white dress with silver converse trainers – we knew then that we desperately wanted to be the wedding florist to this one-of-a-kind wedding day.
Their choice of venue for the wedding reception was The Lion and Pheasant, a stylish townhouse hotel located in the centre of Shrewsbury. This venue mixes effortlessly a historic building with contemporary design.
For their mid-August wedding, the couple opted for a vibrant colour pallet of yellows and complementary hues such as orange and soft blue. To create this look we worked with blooms Vuvuzela Roses, Charmant Roses, white Dahlia, white Ping Pong Chrysnthemums, Craspedia and Eucalyptus foliage. Alex liked the spherical shapes of the flowers and the idea of a posy that mirrored the geometric shaping.
Alex’s daughter had a mini posy that matched the Bridal posy; the flowers met with her daughters approval – which was all the blessing any of us needed. We created a long table arrangement which incorporated all of the wedding flowers; beautiful pink and peach Vuvuzela Rose stems were placed in blue vases which dressed the tables in the venue.
Alex is also the author of ‘It’s all just rock and roll…: A Terrifically Truthful Tale of one Girl’s Bust Up with Breast Cancer’. As Alex described, the book is an story about love, life, happiness and hair. Alex was victorious in her battle with breast cancer and her story is just another element that makes this Bride truly incredible.
