With bonfire night being only a few days away, we’ve been chatting about fireworks here at Big Little Things. I’m a huge pyrotechnic fan; I had a fireworks display at my own wedding. They’re a real talking point and source of entertainment for the Bride, Groom, and guests too. So with Guy Fawkes night just around the corner, it seems only fitting to explore a firework inspired wedding theme!

A fireworks display at a wedding is not only great entertainment, but they provide a gloriously sparkling backdrop for photographs too. Consider where the fireworks will be set off from – will this position allow for ample photographic opportunities? If you’re having your wedding reception at a venue such as a hotel or stately home, they will be sure to advise you. Who is organising the fireworks? With safety in mind, we’d advise that you enlist an established, professional fireworks supplier to organise the display.

If you are getting married in a marque or tipi, consider a fireworks inspired light installation. We love these lights by Moooi, they give a firework impact to the venue.

Sparklers at a wedding are great fun and provide another great photo opportunity. A sparkler send-off for the Bride and Groom can look amazing, especially with guests competing to write their names in the sky! The sparkler trend has been around for a while at winter and autumnal weddings, yet it’s only recently become a popular summer outdoor wedding trend.

Carry the firework theme through to your wedding cake. Whether you’re having a traditional cake or smaller cupcakes, sparklers can make great cake topper!

Married life can set off with a bang!
